Post-Spring Break Meeting Notes
Schedule for today
- Make a schedule for working on the program
- Specific plans for puzzles
- Go over comments from storyboard
Notes
From our meeting with Dianne:
- Dianne feels constricted by the core knowledge curriculum (and so do we)
- Students help each other with the computers, but preferably
no teacher supervision
- Dianne just told us she wants to include math puzzles
Random notes:
- If we had looked at specific software and done the readings we are doing
now earlier in the semester, we could have used ideas from class while
designing (such as the
playground/simulation/game triangle)
- One weakness of our program is that the user's character has nothing
to do with the rest of the program
- In each colony, there should be one puzzle piece
- The number of travel tickets and colonies traveled to increases by level
- Biography puzzles -- establish narrative instead of random facts
- We should use identities rather than occupations for characters -- this
will help with having female characters
