hey everyone

i hope you are enjoying dewey so far :) in anticipation of tomorrow's discussion on dewey's "democracy and education," please consider the following questions...

  1. "Education is a social process." What does Dewey mean?

  2. How does Dewey ultimately define the purpose of education?

  3. What does Dewey mean when he discusses equal education opportunity? Can education be "democratic"?

  4. Do you buy Dewey's theory that education is a laboratory for testing philosophical theories?

  5. How is Dewey's philosophy relevant to what we are trying to do in this course? Can his theories be applied today?

    see y'all tomorrow!

    rupali :)
