DOWNLOADING AND USING
HYPERCARD PROJECTS

Downloading

To download a project

To download a particular project, simply click on the "download" button for that project. If your web browser is configured properly, and you have the appropriate helper applications, the project will automatically download, decode and decompress on your hard drive. You should get a folder containing the project stack or stacks and the User's Manual.

If you have problems

If you are not successful downloading the software, your browser may not be properly configured, or you may not have the appropriate decoding software. The projects are stuffed into self-extracting Stuffit files (.sea) and then encoded using BinHex (.hqx). For information on these file formats, as well as information on obtaining the free Stuffit Expander software, visit Alladin's web site:

Using the Projects

About HyperCard

All CS 92 projects created during the years 1992-1997 and available here were created using Apple's HyperCard software. HyperCard is a simple development environment in which programmers develop "stacks," and it is available only for the Macintosh. HyperCard stacks must be opened by the HyperCard application. You can download a HyperCard Player free of charge which will allow you to open and use HyperCard stacks. Even if you have an older version of HyperCard (2.1, for example) it's a good idea to download HyperCard Player, as most projects have been developed in HyperCard 2.2 or 2.3. Note also that a few projects are stand-alone applications and will run without either HyperCard or HyperCard Player. For more information about HyperCard or to download the HyperCard Player, see the The HyperCard Resource Page (at glasscat.com), or Apple's Hypercard Pages.
