INTENDED AUDIENCE

This program was designed for a sixth grade audience, who have some experience with the concept of an ecosystem. The program strives to establish a connection between the students behaviors and the health of America's wetlands.

EDUCATIONAL GOALS

This program is designed to teach students about the effect of human behavior on wetlands. Throughout the program, the student is confronted with varying problems. After each problem a list of possible solutions is presented. the student must then choose a course of action. Directly after this, the effect of the decision on the environment is statistically displayed. For example, at one point in the program, a factory is dumping toxic waste into the water supply. The student has the option of joining a neighborhood organization, talking to the factory owners, blowing up the factory, or doing nothing at all.

NOTES

Although this program is not very long, it is fast and enjoyable to play. There are choices of freshwater of saltwater and each presents different challenges.
