Old Dogs, New Tricks

This article seemed rather strange. It tried to show that older people could learn OOP just as well as younger people, but what was the point? Programming was not involved in measuring performance; it was strictly measured by test taking abi lity. To me, it seems that older people would have more tests taking experience, and therefore know how to take tests and do well. The study did nothing to show what could be done to overcome the resistance to OOP nor did it do anything to say how this re sistance to OOP affected the work that the students did. Anyone can take information from a lecture and regurgitate it on a test, but that doesn’t mean that they understood or could use what they were talking about.

This document needed much more substance. The tests are insufficient data for my taste!
