Reaction for: Old Dogs, New Tricks, by Matt C

I don't really have much to say about this paper, as its relevance seems to be fairly minor. As Shoe said, it really only serves to confirm that Object-Oriented programming can be learned by all programmers, even after they have been using procedural for extended amounts of time. It might even show that people who have used procedural techniques for a long time see the benefits of the OO, and might even become converts.

What would be more interesting to me would be a study of the differences in comprehension of OO from people who are just starting to program and people who have programmed procedurally for many years. There may very well need to be a difference in teaching styles for the two groups, or more. This is somewhat addressed in the Brown paper, but I believe a more formal study could be warranted.
