Reaction for: Object-Oriented Software Development: Analysis and Design by Matt Amdur

The demonstration of the design of such a large program was very interesting. The process seemed to go very well, and all the problems seemed to get addressed very quickly. I began to wonder how contrived the experiment was, but overall I was still impressed.

I think CRC cards could be very useful, and this type of designing could be done successfully in section. Something along the lines of what Danah described from the conference sounds very good. Students could have a card defining what they are and what they can do. Having students dynamically interact with their assigned roles, changing what they can and can't do, in order to solve a problem would be a great exercise. We've talked so much about catering to different intelligences, and activities like this do just that.
