Welcome to the Fall 2011 cs019! Your official materials use the designator CSCI0190, but that naming and numbering convention was imposed by a very deficient piece of software. Just to show that we won't let bad software rule our lives, we're choosing to use the old designation. The course follows the same principle.

This course is very hard. Two years ago, the Critical Review said it was “like Organic Chemistry”. Despite that we made it harder last year, so now students feel it will “eat your life”. Nevertheless, we're compressing some existing assignments and expecting to add more. Do read the README, which also contains a missive from the course staff. If you still have questions, ask away!

The class meets MWF 10-11 in room 368 of the CIT (map, directions), which is on the corner of Brook and Waterman, next to the Sciences Library.

All your work is governed by our policies, so it's best for you to know them thoroughly.

Finally, Head TA Jonah's musical.
