First meeting with Club DNA, Wednesday 2/26
We met the kids and introduced ourselves. Annie DeGroot gave a demonstration on antibodies and how they work to recognize viruses. Then we asked the kids some questions to get a sense of what they're interested in and what they already know about vaccines. The kids seemed to be pretty interested in talking about the shots they've gotten, so this is probably a good thing to pursue in the project as a way to teach about vaccines. (And all ears turned when there was mention of maybe making a comuter "game")
Almost all the kids have computers at home and have had some experience surfing the web.
Group meeting 5:30 next Monday after class!
