Tech Report CS-90-28

Computer Science Curriculum for the Year 2000

Department of Computer Science

November 1990

Abstract:

This report documents the initial phases of a study by members of the Brown Department of Computer Science for revision of its computer science curriculum. It is a working paper designed to stimulate discussion, both within the department and externally, prior to committing to a specific course of action. It is the basis for a departmental proposal to the National Science Foundation. By making these preliminary ideas available to a wider audience, we hope to contribute to the national debate concerning curriculum revision, and to obtain feedback for our own curriculum development. Comments on these ideas will be appreciated.
