Abstract:

In this paper, we discuss the design and implementation of some three-dimensional rendering algorithms on massively parallel computers. These algorithms employ SIMD-style parallelism; that is, each processor runs the same instructions on different data. We have implemented some of these algorithms on the Connection Machine 2, a computer manufactured by Thinking Machines Corporation.
