Grapher Prototype

The initial prototype for the graphing mechanism.  Users must manually type in margin values, axis tick sizes, and axis ranges.  Click draw to update the graph.  Different graphs are overdrawn on each other, so users must click erase to clear the drawing area.  The graph function is hardcoded in, since this prototype was mostly for testing purposes (2/28/03).

Storyboard Presentation

Powerpoint presentation outlining our original plan, hopes, and goals for the project.  We successfully met most of our specifications in the final product, although there are some features we did not get to implement, such as sound, narration, and more in-dept tutorials explaining the math (3/11/03).

Article Discussion Paper

A discussion on two articles, one about learning physiology through educational software, and the other about discussing the effects of using figures, tables, and text in teaching science.  This is relevant to CardioViz because of similar goals and teaching architecture (4/9/03).

Animation Prototype and Grapher

This animation includes movement of the veins, arteries, heart, heart valves, and resistance.  Heart contractility is incorrectly modeled in this animation.  It uses the value of heart contractility to determine how far the heart will expand from the fully contracted state.  It is supposed to determine how far the heart will contract from the fully expanded state.  To see any changes in the animation, the user must click the Test button (4/21/03).

Finished Product as a Shockwave File on a Webpage

It is recommended that users download this program below as an executable file because web browsers tend to cut off the view if the screen resolution is not higher than 1024x768.  The web version requires the Shockwave Player; it is downloadable at www.macromedia.com.  The README file is here (5/19/03).

Finished Product as a Downloadable Executable

Finished program as a compressed Shockwave projector.  This will run in full-screen.  Minimum requirements are a screen resolution of 1024x768.  Speed will vary depending on processor speed.  The file is 2.92MB and is a stand-alone application.  Shockwave plugins are not needed (5/19/03).
