Another CSer at Boston Cyberarts Festival

Gee, we're impressed: another CSer showed an artwork at the recent Boston Cyberarts Festival. Our April 10 news squib on this site talked about Selim Tezel's (MSc '02) computer-generated images in this show; now here's another CS artist!

Andrew McClain, a CS major and CS 15 UTA who completed his senior thesis on 'CaveSculpting: Creating sculpture from CavePaintings' and received his Brown B.A. yesterday, conceived and co-created 'Screen', a written-text virtual-reality installation featured in the Boston Cyberarts festival. Next year he will attend the MFA Acting Program at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.

David Reiss Named Faculty Scholar

We're happy to announce that David Reiss, a junior concentrating in Computer Science, has been named a Faculty Scholar for the 03-04 academic year. The Faculty Scholars fund was established in 1982 through the gifts of the University's faculty and friends to provide scholarship and fellowship aid to undergraduate or graduate students, with preference given to those who have demonstrated academic excellence. David is one of seven Faculty Scholars for next year.
